Lemmy's sig Marshall

Marshall made a signature Bass amp for Lemmy of Motorhead.

Anyone try these out yet? Are they out yet to try?

It's based on Lemmy's 100w SuperBass, so it may be better for guitar, but the thing looks cool as hell and would make a mean looking punk bass rig!

Its about time Marshall gave that guy a deal. they spent 25 years sending him out every new Bass Amp they came up with, and he spent 25 years sending every one back!

I can't say I'm a huge fan of motorhead ( although Ace of Spades is great and Year of the Wolf is in my top ten best metal tunes ever) but I love listening to Lemmy talk about anything, he's genuine and tells it like it is.

I just watched 2 Motorhead DVD's recently. I'm surprised Marshall would even want to associate with Lemmy's Bass playing. He sounded Horrendous. I don't think he's actually practised in years.
And I enjoy Nasty sounding Punk bass players

The words Marshall and Bass amp do not belong in the same sentence without a prejorative ... something on the order of 'Marshall Bass amps are not good sounding...' or maybe 'Marshall Bass amplifiers are gnarly, dude... yo, Spicoli, pop open a cold one !'

I've heard a few, not all by anymeans but the ones I've heard were absolutely wrong. All mids, no low's, way too much grind. Kinda like re-badged Marshall guitar amps - which I generally like BTW - but being used for bass... Given the cost of Euro's in USD and the price of transport these days - it's a noon point for me though. If it isn't North American built - I can't afford it ...

Like I said, it'd be better for guitar... which I'd actually love one for. I love Motorhead, and I actually like Lemmy's playing and tone. Saw them a few years back and it was too cool to describe.

Aint no way I'd use a Lemmy sig in place of my Ampeg SVT PRO4... but the thing look cool as hell.

I used a MK2 JMP Superbass amp for years with no complaints and I certainly didn't sound like Lemmy. (Not that there would be anything wrong in that.)
Marshall have made some great Bass amps over the years, not including the JCM800 valve series...whats the point of putting tone controls on a chassis that dont actually do anything?
The only criticism I could level at the valve amps would be a lack of headroom, they did bring out a 2/300 watt valve amp in the early 1980's but they were very unreliable.
Of course, they have the VBA400 these days but I think I'll stick with my SVT.
