Will the GHS 3020 PRECISION FLATWOUND ELECTRIC BASS SET Short scale (30"-31") fit string throughs like a Mustang?

Anyone using these shortscale strings?

In general flats should give me more thump, deeper tone and less zing?

How do the std GHS precsion flats compare to the brite flats?

IIRC they're long enough but Tim Armstrong will know for sure. He uses them.

The GHS Brite Flats aren't flatwounds, they're ground roundwounds. I think they're the worst of both worlds, but YMMV.

They fit on my string-through Vista Series Musicmaster, so I reckon they should work on a Mustang.

I would note that I usually have to peel the red silk up a little to get it above the nut...

Cheers, Tim

Thanks Tim,

I'm going to pick up a set of the GHS precison flats and slap them on the Mustang.
