bronco bass to mustang bass???

i was looking on musicansfriend to day for a cheap bass cause i want to start learning bass.it is possible to convert a bronco bass to a mustang bass or are their body styles different?

Wasn't Tim Armstrong doing that exact thing not too long ago?

I was just thinking of doing something similar to my bronco. guitarpartsresource has the mustang pickups.

Yep. The bodies are identical, except for the pickup rout, and the pickguard does a nice job of hiding excessive routing! Here's a Musicmaster body that's about to become a Mustang body:

is there a thread on that bass? what color is it going to be?

I've posted that picture recently, probably in another thread. I don't recall if I had a thread on it, though. It's a 1973 Musicmaster Bass body, and I have a 1973 Musicmaster Bass neck for it (I actually have two of them, one is on Pinky, the bass I usually gig).

It's going to be black (always did like black with MOTS pickguards!).
