Bass left in the car on a 100+ degree day!

I swear, I get a little dumber each day.

I get home from work today and after dinner, go to my music room. I'm sitting there and realize: "Hmm, something's missing." That's when I remember I never unloaded my bass and amp out of the car last night from church!

It was in the trunk of my car all day until about 7pm, it was only 101 degrees here today.

I pulled it out and it's hard to see, but the entire top of the case is warped:

So I let it cool in the case for a while and opened it up, expecting a disaster since it's a neck through six string (lots of tension and not cheap or easy to repair)

No damage! Neck is still perfect, Carvin makes a solid bass.

I think I used up my luck this week on this one.

I must admit to the same kind of sin. Hot summer days AND cold winter nights.

So far, I've also dodged the bullet, no damage...

Cheers, Tim

you guys are living on the edge. Only place I don't unload is home where the garage is heated / air conditioned ... all the humidity of a northwwest winter and then the extreme dry of our summer makes for some interesting setup experiences ...
