Somewhere along the line I must've registered with guitarschool.net, because I got an email from them this morning about something called iPerform 3D. I went their website (http://www.guitarschool.net) to see what it was about, and it seems it's a subscription-based guitar lesson system that uses 3D rendered video to demonstrate the techniques. The video is animated using motion-capture technology and allows you to examine things from almost any angle you choose. You can zoom in on either hand and you also have control over the speed of the playback.
I'm at work, so I've only been able to give it a brief once over on my laptop, but it looks amazing so far. I can't tell you how many times I've looked at video lessons and been confused trying to figure out exactly what was going on in the video, and this seems to completely solve that problem.
I'm wondering if anybody else had tried this, yet? I couldn't find anything about it in a search.
