commercial entity usernames changing?

In a couple of recent threads I have seen TDPRI member usernames changed for users that represent some commercial entity, from a username that reflects the name of the commercial entity to a username that doesn't.

Is this the implementation of a rule that will apply to all users here who represent a commerical entity?

Given that this change has occurred to some of the members, how can we other members figure out whether other members are commercial entities?

The TDPRI is non-commercial. Commercial entities are discouraged from using the TDPRI to promote, discuss or market their goods and services.

See, with 20,000 members if this is allowed we would be quickly deluged with folks that have no interest in our community only the pocket books of our members.

I realize that this does not address the issue that you've brought up, but I see it as the greater good to protect the page. To put it bluntly, I don't care if members know that another member is "commercial" or just a regular joe. On the TDPRI everyone is a regular joe.

PS. The commercial rules do not permit commercial usernames, logos or links.
