I'm looking for a pickup for my Mustang (the MIJ '65 Reissue) and an looking for suggestions of what might get me near that P-90 sound in a strat sized pickup. Don't want to route the body, so I want to keep it strat sized. Thanks for any assistance.

Pete Biltoft makes fantastic Strat & Tele-sized P90's, and he's a great guy to do business with:

I had Pete make me a P90 style Strat pu a couple years ago, it sounded very good.
I also had a parts Strat with a set of Steel Pole Fralins, they sounded very good too.
The Harmonic Design S90 Tele bridge pu is killer, I'm sure his Strat versions are great too.

DiMarzio SDS-1. Quite close to P90s

Rio Grande Dirty Harry's. Not a pure P90 sound, more of a blend between P90 and Strat, but definitely worth checking out.

You may actually consider some single-sized humbuckers as well. Some of them are very P-90'ish.
