I recall the bassist for Atlanta Rythmn Section named Paul Goddard playing that cool great bass solo in the song "Large Time" in concert back in 1979 on a Ric.

That is one of my fav all time bass solos.

Chris Squier from Yes handled a Ric bass pretty well too!

I had a modded blue one sometime around 1979 or so,bought it used and someone had sanded the paint off the back.so i decided to finish the whole thing natural tore off the white binding and had a friend replace it with black binding. The bridge p.u. had been replaced with a bartolini high "A" guitar pickup.I also made my first pickguard for that bass a black one.I loved the thick chugging tone that thing put out,it also played like a dream. The neck was perfect in width and thickness for me.If i could find one cheap i'd buy it.

What specifically do you want to know? "Thoughts on this line" and a dim pic of a 4001 or 4003 doesn't really tell me much.

Looks like my Ric 4001. Great bass; best neck I've ever played.
