A colleague of mine has got a 1970s-1980s Bill Lawrence Prizma II bass.
He doesn't know when it was made; he's not the original owner. The pickups were replaced by EMG selects.
Now he does not want to sell it, but he's curious what a bass like that could be worth nowadays. Does anybody here have an idea?

Not a clue! But it's a cool instrument!!!

I would email Bill Lawrence and ask him about those instruments, when and where they were made, etc. Bill's pretty helpful, usually...

Cheers, Tim

Thanks Tim!

My colleague already did just that he says, and Bill's wife sent an email back, stating that they didn't know much about that bass either...
A guitar shop where he inquired knew that they were made somewhere in the far east (Japan, Korea, even about that they weren't sure apparently).
The only thing that's really certain about it is that it must have been equipped with Bill Lawrence pickups originally.

And I agree, it's a cool two tone bass!

If I am not mistaken - I have read that these Bill Lawrence models are not produced BY Bill Lawrence. The same production line put out the Bills Brothers line as well (As I have read). I understand that they are really nice instruments, and like so many other cool things - have a cult following.

I couldn't guess on value, but I would wonder about that bridge pickup being original - with the cosmetic ring.
