Pulling the neck. Is it healthy for my tele??

I havent posted here for a long time, but everytime I have acces to a computer i lurk for hours at a time. Love the place..

That said, I have a question: Will it hurt my guitar (asat classic custom) when I use pulling the neck for vibrato?? yesterday, in a jamming frenzy, I noticed that once in a while when I pulled the neck, I heard a little cracking sound.. Im thinking that it cant be good sign, but then again Ive used and relied heavily on the effect since I heard Jim Campilongo for the first time. Jim does it all the time, but he has probably got more money than I for setups and stuff, and I really dont want to ruin a good guitar if I can avoid it.

Any advice appreciated..

I've never had any problems doing it, it's probably just a little creak from the neck pocket
