i've searched high and low but nowhere can i find the big ol' "mudbuckers" used in the new squire bass, and i need one for another project, it would be a damn shame to buy a bass for the pickup and then let the rest of it collect dust. so.. can anyone tell me where i can buy one of those big ol fender bass humbuckers?
thanks!

Don't know, but if you want to buy the whole bass and part it out, I'll take some stuff off your hands. Especially the neck.

They don't sell those pickups separately. Nobody is making an aftermarket version either. Your only other option is to wait for a 70s original to come up on eBay. But I haven't heard the Squier reissue, it looks the same on the outside but I don't know how the construction and tone might differ from the original.

If you're just going for the look, Artec is making an inexpensive version of the old Gibson mudbucker that is about 30k and constructed very much like the old ones. But again, no idea how the tone would compare to the Squier.
