Hi There,
a little curiosity, after watching this video for a while I realized there's a B-Bender in Chet's Tele, playing with Jerry in 1976.
at 2.17 you can see the front lever, maybe one of the first Parsons/White Pull-String (P/G came later, in 1989, and Fender started in 1996)
at 2.40 you see the mechanism behind the bridge.
Unfortunately Chet doesn't use it in this vid
Ciao

The strap appears to be disappearing behind the guitar, and the pull-hub isn't round, that would leave Parsons/White out, and Evans also, due to the strap/attachment location. Glaser wasn't making them then, but Sho-Bud was, and that would be my guess.

So I did a quick google and found Sho-Bud's (http://www.sho-bud.net) official site. And all I get is the front page... with no links to get anywhere inside. Any hints here, or direct links?

Do they still make string benders for guitars?

Many thanks in advance.

Ward Hi Ward; I think they were just a few one-offs, way back when. I'm not sure if they were all converted Teles, or they made their own version of a Tele. Kitty Wells had a thin acoustic Sho-Bud made for her, with her name in abalone, but I'm not sure as to their guitar building history, or if someone bought out the pedal steel operation, or if they're still in the business. I think Duane Marrs re-does old buds, and might even be producing new ones....not sure. As to the bender, the guy that did a bunch of shows with Kitty Wells, in the early 80's had one, and I'm not positive that's what Chet is playing...just a guess.
