I won this "like new" martin D18 from a reputable dealer on fleabay for $1275 (plus $25 shipping), which I think is better than OK if she proves to be a keeper. Here's pics:

I watched several D28's, D35, & D18's go for the 1200-1300 range the last couple of weeks so I figured I bettah grab one while I can. :) Thanks :)

Well done PK! Does it have the pronounced V neck?

I'm not sure about the V-neck, but I'll post the lowdown when she arrives. To quote a great american: "The Wai-ayee-ting is The Hardest Part" (Tom Petty for you non Heartbreaker fans) :)

If you got it at Oklahoma vintage Guitars on Ebay, then I played it today....?

That looks like the rough cedar wall in their acoustic room.

That's a standard 18...no V neck.

It's beautiful. Big warm mahogany punch.

Congratulations!!

The D-18 is the Tele of large acoustics -- I've had mine for forty years. Congratulations on nabbing a pretty one!

Roxymusicshop In LaPorte Indiana. I think they're brick and mortar with ebay presence. I've never dealt with, and i hope my early jubilation isn't premature, but they have only one neg that was well over a year ago and several guitar feedbacks all positive recently. I think I got lucky :)

My brother played his 1970 D-18 at our duo gig tonight, and it sounded marvelous. It was his first good guitar, bought brand new through the store where he was taking lessons, and he got it for dealer cost...

...$210!

The CPI Inflation Calculator (http://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/cpicalc.pl) tells us that was the equivalent of $1155 in todays dollars, so it was merely a very good deal!

Cheers, Tim

I think that guitar outperformed the S&P 500! tax free too (does the tax man know he has it?), not to mention the dividend of playing it :)

That looks like a recent d-18. I had an 07 that was very nice. It should have the "low profile" neck. The standard d-18 is a fantastic guitar. I choose it over the D-18v because I don't like the fake aged tops.

I think you got a heckuvadeal!! I played a used D-18 last month that was about 8yrs old and had some bad finish issues on the back and lower side and they were asking over 1300 for it. Beautiful guitar I think you scored big time.

Congrats!!!

Hey, I know that wall! I live a few miles from that shop. Bought an amp there once. They were nice to deal with. I would have test drove that for you if I'd known!
