Menatone TBIAC -- 6L6 vs. EL84

Hello, new forum member.

I just picked up a Menatone Top Boost In A Can.

I've browsed forum discussions, as well as googled
for opinions on the unit, but would like to post again
for fresh experiences.

Do you find the pedal works best with Fender style
6L6 based amps (e.g. Deluxe Reverb), or with
EL84 amps, which is of course the basis of the Vox
tone that the pedal was designed to capture.

I love Fender clean amps and Vox chime, and am particularly
thinking of a Deluxe Reverb (Fender, or boutique clone), vs.
a clean EL84 (e.g. Top Hat Club Royale).

Opinions on which way to go?

Thanks.

I'm not sure if this will help or not, but I've had a little experience with a Voxy pedal through two such examples...

Our BJF Emerald Green Distortion (Vox AC-30 like overdrive, fantastic pedal) sounds 100% better on the Fender Twin than on the slightly overdriven clean channel of a JCM2000(TSL60) I've consistently played through. The twin is simply smoother on most settings, whereas a bit of upper-end harshness characterizes the Marshall's tone when driven toward medium gain and beyond.

Maybe someone could provide more specific advice than mine!

Mine works great into my vintage fenders or my AC30.

It was designed using fender blackface amps. I used it with an el84 Carr Mercury with excellent results. Menatone makes all star stuff!

I am dangerously close to getting one of these pedals. Really looking for the clean chime of the Vox, as well as the over-the-top tones.

Will it work well with my 100 watt Marshall JCM 900 High-Gain Dual Reverb 2x12" Combo amp? I'll be playing with my Broadcaster and LP Custom w/ P-90s.
