How does a thread get "sticky?"

I'd like to start a sticky thread for people on this site that like vinyl. When I have posted my questions, I have been re-directed to other websites. For me, it would be nice to have an open ended chat about vinyl records, equipment, etc.

No one can start a Sticky but me I'm afraid. Obviously, I'm a vinyl fan, but I have not wanted to make that topic a sticky or anything else special at this time.

Same way I decide anything. When it seems right to do so. It's not a science or anything. I'm winging it... but I've been winging it for just a few days shy of 9 years.

I've wondered why the "put a face to a name" thread didn't have a sticky.

Best way to get a sticky is to entitle the thread ' All who read this must buy Paul a pint ' :mrgreen:
