I just got this device and plan to plug direct into the church's PA system. Anyone have any experience with this modeler and can you recommend any of the presets?
Thanks.

Digitech RP50 and tele for worship?Esaaal April 16th, 2008, 04:42 PM I just got this device and plan to plug direct into the church's PA system. Anyone have any experience with this modeler and can you recommend any of the presets? Thanks. Ed S BuckyB April 17th, 2008, 01:18 AM I've been using a Peavey Generation (at least LOOKS like a Tele) with an RP200, plugged straight into the PA (through a DI) for a couple of years and love it. I started with the "Tweedy" patch and modified from there. Works great. sax4blues April 17th, 2008, 01:49 AM I play my James Burton Tele with the RP200 direct to the board, no DI. I favor Tweed with the gain up and Blackface for clean with cabinet emulation and reverb on all settings. Esaaal April 24th, 2008, 04:06 PM I just used this combo for the first time last night. I played rythym behind a Martin J40 and I thought the RP50 sounded great. I created two "models" that I used on 4 songs. They were mostly clean with a little reverb thrown in. The sound guys liked that the unit caused no add'l static "noise" so that was also a plus. I played a 07 American Ash in natural. It's in my avatar. Ed ravindave_3600 April 24th, 2008, 09:44 PM Welcome, Esaaal. Was last night a rehearsal or a worship time? Tell us more! Esaaal April 26th, 2008, 10:23 AM Ravindave, We practice for an hour and half prior to a Wednesday night bible study. We'll play four songs and normally I back up the lead with a D-18 or a J12-15. I've been wanting to try out the tele but I don't yet own a nice amp. The worship leader chose "Oh Magnify the Lord, Your Love oh Lord, How deep is the Father's love for us and Unchanging" for the set. I just wanted to make some nice sounds behind the acoustic player and the combo of the RP50 and my tele worked very well. Normally the worship leader will play back up on Sundays with a strat or Les Paul. He liked the sounds the tele was making and so did I. Mostly clean this time, I might create some models with a little distortion next time around, depending on the song list. Thanks for asking! Ed S. TxTeleMan July 1st, 2008, 10:43 AM I use a Nashville Tele with a RP150 and a Fender Princeton or Palomino V16. Due to the limitations inherent in the DigiTech devices, namely the up-and-down pedal thingy and the trickiness in hitting both pedals at once to bypass, I put my main sounds in the first fivepresets. 1957 Champ emulation for that tight sound. Lead solo with compression, echo, and drive. Fender Twin Reverb with a little more drive than normal. Country chicken pickin - compression, slapback, reverb. Reverb with tremolo, for that mellow Rhodes Piano sound, or Duane Eddy twang, great for Holy is the Lord (but I can't tell you that because it's a trade secret). randelli August 2nd, 2008, 04:09 PM I play my tele through an RP-10 into a Vibro Champ amp. The amp is mic'd to the board so I can keep my stage level down and not drive the sound guy nuts. If you need a good amp I would recomend this one. Look for one on ebay. I am looking for good algorithms (a rythmn named after Al Gore) that I can load into the RP-10. Do any of you have any to share? They would be rather large so if you want to put them in an email that would be fine. escalators October 2nd, 2008, 02:43 PM I'd been using the RP350 for the longest time with my Tele Deluxe.. worked okay. New gear, new amp on the horizon though.. times a changin' :] Daddy Poet October 6th, 2008, 02:21 PM I am using the same Combo. A Tele and RP 50. You find any good settings that you would like to share? |
