My Tele is a Vintage Hot Rod 52. boris bubbanov April 14th, 2008, 08:54 PM Bill Callaham has a brass saddle that is called "enhanced vintage". The string breaks over the faceted saddle in a different fashion that on a Glendale, an Allparts, or a stock Fender tilt-compensated saddle, and it seems very secure indeed. I don't bend near as much as some guys, but it might be worth a try as it sure works for me. Flat357 April 14th, 2008, 09:04 PM The problem will stop eventually as the saddle tarnishes and the string wears on it a little . Or you could try the vintage style http://www.relicmasters.com/thread_sad.jpg Phoebe April 16th, 2008, 12:17 PM Got this from one of Earlewine's (sp?) books and it works like a charm: String the guitar up and accurately set the string spacing over the saddles. Then with an appropriately sized punch, about 3/32 diameter, position the punch against the string at the apex of the saddle and tap it with a brass hammer transferring a "dent" from the string into the saddle. Repeat for each string. Best to use worn strings because they'll be sacrificed in the process.
