Two File sizes for pictures in Gallery, Why?

Hi Moderators and all,

I have posted quite a few pictures in the various galleries and have paid attention to warnings NOT to ONLY post to the MEMBER GALLERY.

My photos are of course, always under 300K and I seldom have trouble uploading them.

So my question is why many of my photos in "My Photos" show that there are 2 files for each picture? One file is very small and the other is much larger. I know that I didn't upload a thumbnail or anything like that. Those small files really take up a lot of space.... how do I delete only them, and just leave the larger files intact? That way, I can upload more photos.

Thanks for explaining this..... I couldn't figure out how to delete those other smaller files without deleting the whole picture.

Here's the link to my gallery:

Simple the Gallery makes smaller sized photo automatically for you to use elsewhere: in emails, in posts, in classified ads and etc.

Thanks so much! Is it possible to selectively delete one of those files easily? It must be possible because I have some photos that only have one file associated with them.

Thanks again.

No it's not at all. Some files are small already and don't need a second smaller file needed.

So I take it, in order to avoid generating that second smaller file, I should upload smaller files to begin with.

Thanks again.
