I need help identifying this Gibson Les Paul Guitar for my father. I don't really know much about guitars but I emailed Gibson and they never responded back. I have checked the serial number on the back and I'm not really sure how to read it. Please let me know what you find out about it or if you know the date it was made or ANYTHING I'd appreciate it! Thanks!!!

well first and formost its an epiphone not a gibson. epiphone is made by gibson though, and if you email them instead they will have a better chance at helping you out.

just by looking at it though, it seems to be just the epiphone les paul standard (maybe the plus top depending on the year)

but i would check with epiphone if i were you.

You'd probably have more luck over at the epiphone.com forums. But having said that according to the GuitarDater website
(http://www.guitardaterproject.org/epiphone.aspx ) :

"Guitar Info

Your guitar was made at the
Bohemia Musico-Delica Plant, Czech Republic
November 2010
Production Number: 2791 "

Not sure about that date though, unless your dad is H.G. Wells. Hopefully this helps.

Looks like one of these. Looking at the pot codes might give you an indication of age.

Interesting. Central European.

I thought today's Epiphones were made in China or Korea.

The Czech factory makes guitars for the European market. This guitar has somehow made it over here.

It certainly does look like that one. Here's the Musicians Friend listing,

Click through the photos, even the covers on the back are the same color. It doesn't come with a case either, which would help explain why the case in your photo isn't made for that model.
