Suggestions, please, for a loud and dirty Tele bridge pickup to balance a loud and smooth humbucker at the neck. Open to anything that looks, visually, like a traditional Tele bridge pickup.

JNE April 8th, 2008, 03:37 PM Well, visually not exactly a traditional Tele pup, but I still gotta praise the SD Little '59. IMHO fits to your sound description spot on! I got them in my two Teles, both of which are now wired Esquire-ish. Especially the no-tone position screams!!! Not your traditional Tele pup sound-wise either, but fits great to my taste and current needs. nic'o'caster April 8th, 2008, 04:19 PM You should be happy with a Lollar Special ! Tone heaven guaranteed, unless you seek something really humbuckish... tpaul April 8th, 2008, 06:32 PM No, I'm looking for something to contrast with a humbucker, but with a volume and full presence to match... sort of... Wally Gator April 9th, 2008, 06:09 PM Tom Anderson 3 range or Schecter USA stacked Tele (similiar to each other). You could also split them for a more classic Tele tone. Here's how I use my Schecter: Open G tuned, split for classic Stones (cleaner), full on for Black Crowes or solo Keef (thick and filthy). Highly recommended! |
