Need help/advice on a new amp purchase

I am going to purchase a new amp.

Due to...uh...cash flow issues, it will be solid state.

I want something with power/loud. (We play alot of out door camp sites during the summer and don't mic anything)

I am looking at either the Fender Frontman 212R 100W or the Crate FlexWave Series FW120 120W 2x12 . (Both are in the same price range $330).
The Crate has DSP.

Before anyone says "play them both", the nearest place that has them is a GC about 110 miles from me.

I am currently using a Peavey Transformer 212 wich is 100W Stereo.
It is a good amp, but just doesn't seem to get the highs that I am looking for.

Was hoping that someone here has had some experience with at least one, or both of these amps.

Thanks

Jim

have never played one but every time i've heard people mention these they seem to like them. and you can find them for about 3-400 on ebay

if that doesn't work i would look at some peavey's they are built like tanks and reliable. i have a peavey transtube express, 65 watts ...good clean...nasty gain stage but it always lights up and is loud and i got it for about $75

good luck

Thanks Sandman....

Peavey does make a good amp.
I have the Transformer 212 and the Express 112.
To me, the Express sounds better than the Transformer.

I guess I just want the expierience of owning a new, never used, amp.
