Hi. Tried to search using the terms:

4-way
four-way
4 way
four way

And got a no-results-found response. What am I doing wrong?

Most numbers are ignored and 3 letter words are not indexed. I'm not sure why "four" didn't get any results, but probably because of the 3 letter word accompanying it.

Not all numbers are ignored... I've manually inserted numbers like 52, etc.

This is standard for a search engine on a forum like this. If search isn't limited it will consume the entire server. However, you can use Google to search the website as well. There is another post on this just one or two down from yours. And someone there gives instructions for using Google search.

I've been working all day to implement Google Custom Search on the TDPRI. I've got it working at Google's preview site, but when you try it here there are no results showing.

I'll keep working on it. I'd like to have it work. I'm using your "4-way" search as my test search. Google finds a lot of results:

OK, I fixed the Google Search box and it now works. Read this announcement:

You, sir, are a class act. I'm more than a little impressed. (That seems to happen a lot here.) Thanks for spending your Saturday in service.
