Here's a great jazz blues in the key of "G". Courtesy of Ted Greene.

They're both the same, just written differently.
There's a ton of great voicings here that are applicable to all styles of music.

If you like that, start going here once in awhile ... www.tedgreene.com The 'lessons' and 'forums' section both have scads of music and info. A lot of it is very difficult but there's also plenty of intermediate info as well.

If you want to HEAR some really exciting chords, check out Keith Emerson's keyboards with Emerson Lake and Palmer. Denis D'Amour of Canadian band Voivod used these chord sounds to great effect. Even if you don't like the music, listen closely to the dissonance of the chords in this song.

That is a mountain there waiting to be mined!

Hey Stefan, pay attention to the fact that more than 1/2 of those chord structures has a note (usually root) on the sixth string, and NOTHING played on the fifth string. That opens the chord up a little and is a great effect.

Next, focus on the fact that many of these chords are just four notes. This also gives some space to the chord structure.
