Boss RC-2 Looping Pedal

Anybody ahve one of these? How dificult are these to use? I'm thinking of getting one so i can work on my lead when there's noone else to play with. Thoughts?

I've got an old RC-20, which is really simple to use for practicing. Once you have it set up, it's basically just stomping it on for recording/overdubbing or off if you want to play on top of your loop without recording. I've found it to be an amazingly useful tool for working on solos and improvising. The thing I have the most trouble is is my sloppy playing (sadly, I haven't found a pedal to help with that).

From what I've read, the RC-2 isn't any more difficult than the older RC-20.

I thought it was more difficult to use than JamMan, but will point out that they're less money than JamMan. I love my JamMan with the optional foot switch and lots of memory and have no regrets for paying the difference. I also saw there's a newer Line 6 entry that might top the JamMan's feature set.

Some delay pedals such as Electro-Harmonix also have looping.

Here (http://line6.com/jm4looper/) is the Line 6 model. It sounds promising but I really don't see the need for amp modeling on a looper? I like it having pre-recorded jam tracks but I am wondering if it takes up YOUR recording space or those are in a separate storage bank?

As for the JamMan I have been eying that pedal up now for MONTHS! I am just waiting to pull the trigger. Right now I use my laptop but some times I just don't feel like dragging it out and searching for my backing tracks (I keep them on an external hard drive). Plus the USB feature and compact Flash card make it a great tool!

hmmmm..... that line 6 thing looks interesting. still i wonder what all the stuff is good for. i have an rc 20 and that loops so well. but i will keep an eye on the line 6, who knows.

I have an RC-2 and I'm as pleased as punch with it. Get the optional footswitch for it for stopping the loop in one stomp and tap-tempoing. It's a great great practice and writing tool, I highly recommend it.

It is great for what you described. I also have the RC20. Easy to use. It is a great practice tool.

I have one, too. It's a lot of fun to play around with, and pretty easy to use. I don't use it live like some guys do, but I can see how you could really open up a solo set with one of these things. It's fabulous for playing over changes or riffs - you can very quickly see what's working and what isn't.

I've had one for a few months now and it just sits in its box because I haven't taken the time to learn how to use it yet.
