'98 standard American strat?

Is there any difference in quality between '98 and current Standard American Strats?

Which one would you choose?

The current version will offer you greater control over your tone. Quality? Not everyone was a fan of veneered tops, or the swimming pool route on the originals!

Yeah I would too. Unless you can going to get one heck of deal for 98 American Stratocaster then I say jump at. You can always do some upgrade to tremolo block and what not's
