Hey all you Brad Paisley experts our there, I have a question. I was re-reading an artical about Brad and I was wondering why his 68 pink Tele and his 52 body/57neck Tele sport Glaser benders and all of his Crook Teles sport McAvey benders?

Just curious.

In the GP article about his guitars there is a paragraph that states that all of his Crook guitars are installed with the McVey benders as these are light and less intrusive than others. The 68 is his main guitar since starting in the biz and at the time he started Glaser was the man who did the most installs of benders in Nashville. The 52 probably came with it.
Brad's guitar tech is a member on the boards and if he reads this he may have a more succinct answer.

i believe when i asked chad why there wasnt a Mcvay on the 52 tele and a glaser installed instead - he mentioned that since the guitar was vintage.....brad wanted the same type of "work" done that was on his 68.....ive seen them both....the principle is the same but Charlies work and parts are far superior...why... hes a machinist!! joes bender is more 'primative" looking as i can best describe it

That is true. I have only seen a few Glasers, but I like the McVays on my Crooks much more. THey say that Glaser is the guy to take stuff to for vintage gear, but I love Charlie's work. He's also someone that Bill Crook has worked with for a long while. Bill doesn't use the Glasers as far as I know.
