Brent Hutto March 13th, 2008, 09:02 AM Has anyone noticed that the date on this forum seems to be behind by a day? Apparently a leap-year thing would be my guess. It thinks today is Wednesday, March 12. I had noticed for a few days that the newest Classified were never from the day my calendar said it was...
esteban March 13th, 2008, 09:54 AM How can you tell? Everywhere I look, it just says "today."
Brent Hutto March 13th, 2008, 10:03 AM Classifieds. I just a few minutes ago posted an acoustic guitar for sale and it says I posted it around 11.00pm last night.
Tdot March 13th, 2008, 10:19 AM Leap Year.
The calendar on the home page is correct.
TDPRI March 13th, 2008, 02:36 PM I just looked at the Classifieds and I see plenty of ads dated Thursday, March 13, 2008.
So where is it behind?
Brent Hutto March 13th, 2008, 03:14 PM On closer examination, it's not a whole day. More like 11-ish hours. For instance that Reverend guitar that's listed at 3:32AM Thursday was really listed just a few minutes ago.
neocaster March 13th, 2008, 03:16 PM **removed, didn't make sense. (surprise!)**
TDPRI March 13th, 2008, 04:06 PM On closer examination, it's not a whole day. More like 11-ish hours. For instance that Reverend guitar that's listed at 3:32AM Thursday was really listed just a few minutes ago.
Actually it shows that it was listed a few minutes ago. You must have your time zone set way wrong in your Profile. Click on UserCP in the menu bar and then Edit Options and you'll find a section for Date and Time Options.
Brent Hutto March 13th, 2008, 05:00 PM Hmm, this is truly weird. My profile has my time zone set to "GMT -5 (Eastern..." and to use daylight savings time. But those listings are still off by 11 hours. No problems I can see on the regular forum.
No big deal if it doesn't affect anyone else. It doesn't really matter exactly when an item was listed anyway.
esteban March 13th, 2008, 05:13 PM It's kind of like that episode of Lost a couple of weeks ago.
yegbert March 14th, 2008, 04:08 PM Have you checked the clock settings on your PC, Brent?
getbent March 14th, 2008, 04:14 PM I just saw myself come into the room... is there some kind of tear in the space time continuum or was I walking really fast?
Brent Hutto March 14th, 2008, 04:17 PM Yeah, my clock is right time and zone. It's gotta be a bad cookie or something like that. But it seems to have happened when the leap day went by. Computers, bah! I blame Microsoft.
neocaster March 14th, 2008, 04:22 PM I have an older PDA (Compaq iPaq 3765) that hasn't seemed to notice the Daylight Savings Time changes made in 2007. I had to manually push my clock ahead an hour. Comes back down to do I work for my technology or does it work for me.
BTW, getbent, you simply got out of the machine on the "B" end of the cycle.
jclark March 14th, 2008, 04:34 PM Yeah, my clock is right time and zone. It's gotta be a bad cookie or something like that. But it seems to have happened when the leap day went by. Computers, bah! I blame Microsoft.
It wasn't a cookie, but I ate a bad brownie one time that made it seem like everything was 11 hours off.
TDPRI March 14th, 2008, 06:17 PM I just saw myself come into the room... is there some kind of tear in the space time continuum or was I walking really fast?
You had a red tint as you walked toward this post but a blue tint as you left to go visit another forum. Maybe that is the clue to what happened.
Nick JD March 14th, 2008, 06:55 PM It's just about always tomorrow where I am.
It's Friday night for you, Saturday morning for me!

sooooooo, is tomorrow worth it? or should I skip it?
yegbert March 15th, 2008, 07:48 AM Classifieds. I just a few minutes ago posted an acoustic guitar for sale and it says I posted it around 11.00pm last night.
You only notice this time anomaly in the Garage Sale, right?
Brent Hutto March 15th, 2008, 08:25 AM You only notice this time anomaly in the Garage Sale, right?
Yes, only in Garage Sale...or should I say in The Twilight Zone?
[cue spooky 60's music]
yegbert March 15th, 2008, 09:37 AM Okay, it's not just you, Brent. I posted an ad there, Saturday March 15 10:32 a.m. and it's time stamp shows as:
Fri March 14, 2008 23:32
11 hours behind.
But it probably just happens to guys from South Carolina, I grew up there.
TDPRI March 15th, 2008, 05:35 PM Ok, somehow or in some kind of fashion we had to go back through the sound barrier that we'd already gone through twice before.
But now it is fixed. GMT offset on the forum was subtracting 6 hours from GMT and the offset in the Classifieds was subtracting another 5 hours. So, by changing the GMT offset in Classifieds to PLUS 6 hours we got back to even.
