Re-Issue ts-808

Picked up a re-issue at GC along with a few other things when I traded in an amp I had zero use for.
Impressive, even better when I installed a chip socket and a malaysian 4558p ic I salvaged from a burnt out MXR pedal. It's very nice, sweet in the drive and clear as a bell. has a nice growl when you increase the overdrive.
What I may like most is how the "TONE" control doesn't respond like a tone control at all, it seems to be more like an EQ. dialing in more or less upper mids, which is a great feature.
My guitars still sound like my guitars, all unique in respect to their individual characteristics.
I'm been using my MMB with the 2X10 cab, and just tried out my SF Champ tonite and wow, I'm floored. What great feeling tone, nice and airy, spongey, responsive.... seems to do it all.
One of the colest feeling sounds I've found is setting the overdrive at about 8:00 the Tone knob at 9:00 and turn the Level all the way up, hitting your amp really hard. It's great for country stuff, it produces a nice snap and has a sweet flow to it.
I was using my rebuilt ts5 which sounded great also, but it suffered some sort of untimely death apparently, so I'm building a clone in an ugly metal box so I'll have 2 808's, effectively set for 2 different settings. And I'm running the microamp last.... you know for that "OH MY GOD!" kick in the face when the audience starts to fall asleep
I'm trying to find one of those Danelectro Rocky road rotary effects, but they seem to be rarer than the Loch Ness Monster.
has anyone been able to A/B a new versus old TS-808 anywhere for public ears or video?
