Been fine tuning things this week. On 1 of my teles I have the SD nashville 5/2 pup in the bridge, been in there about a year now. Tried the 5/2 neck, did not like it, so I put the SD Vintage neck pup in. Sounds great by itself but does not blend in with the bridge very well, almost like muddy or dark sounding. Before I start buying neck pups to experiment with, can anyone that has had this same experience point me in the right direction. I dont go by the description the manufactures write about the sound of their pups, too many conflicting opinions, I would like to hear from actual users.

I'll try to keep this short. In the past week I have been looking a bridge pup to get that Don Rich,Derailers sound and some refer to it as the 60s sound and I have asked here this week for advice and got some good answers.
In the past I had converetd 2 teles over to the 70 spec wiring(1meg pot, treble bleed cap,.05 cap)that had the SD 54 and SD broadcaster in them, left the 5/2 like it was. They were a little too bright so I switched them back not long ago. Today I wired the tele with the 5/2 to the 70s spec. I found it! the sound, I played some CDs of Buck Owens & Don Rich and The Derailers all day, and its on the money. But when I switch to bridge and SD vintage neck,it just dont sound right,go to neck and it sounds great. The 2 just dont belong together and it was this way before I made the change, in fact I thought it would help the neck.
The SD vintage neck sounds great with the 54 and broadcaster together.
Any thoughts?

Thanks
