Why is the Bad Dog called the Hershey's Bad Dog?

Have we got a lil corporate sponsorship, or did I just eat 2.5 ounces of Hershey's Special Dark for no reason?

Hershey was the original bad dog owned by our webmaster. Hershey has passed on, but it appears that Riley is doing fine filling the position now.

I always wondered, thanks for the explanation.

Absolutely. Poor Hershey, a liver-spotted Dalmatian, died of pancreas problems in 2005. We adopted Riley, a rescue Dalmatian - also liver-spotted, 4 months later and he's doing very well indeed. (Well, he is until that stray cat walks past a window he likes to look out.)

When naming the forum I wanted it to sound comically "tough" and thought of the BDC. When I told my wife she said it sounded just like our dog Hershey - "comically tough". Hence the name.

If you think that the Hershey company would pony up some bucks though I'd be very grateful!
