Fender Tube Spring Reverb (6G15) Owners Club

Don't delay, surf right on over and plug into the outboard tube spring reverb owners club. Mix with other enthusiasts like yourself to dwell on the lush tones that only tube driven spring reverberators can provide!

Feel free to post pics, schematics, build links, video's and related information all for the mutual edification and preservation of the stand-alone tube spring reverb unit.

Mine is a Fender '63 Tube Reverb Reissue in Lacquered Tweed (of course).

I'm in!

I have a clone though, (Kendrick) and I run it into my Hot Rod Deluxe.

I've been thinking about getting a footswitch for it. Does anyone know if using the footswitch bypasses the preamp circuit completely? or does it just switch off the reverb?

Even with the reverb knobs turned off, there is still a change in tone from going direct. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but I'm, just curious.

I'm in i have a 63 in rough brown tolex and a rare 64 in smooth brown.

To the op, try an NOS 6K6, makes it much sweeter sounding. You can find them for a very reasonable price

I think Big John got him a Kendrick too, they sound great. Wish I had the corn for a Victoria Reverberato. As little as I've had to play with it, the footswitch does seem to bypass with no discernable tone/signal loss (to my deaf ears anyway). Be good to have a builder/circuit guru weigh in on this question though.

Just a heads up if anyone's interested... I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting this, but there's a Weber Reverb/Trem unit for sale on the Gear Page classifieds at a good price. I don't know the seller, and I don't have a direct link, but I would def snag this if I didn't already have a Kendrick.

Hi,
Just picked one of these up to go with my Tremolux and i notice a drop in my tone. Almost like you went from a bright input to a normal input on amps with that option. Straight into the amp (no reverb) sounds nice and bright but when the reverb is plugged up it has a definite drop in tone... like the volume or tone knob on the guitar was slightly turned down some.... is this normal. I wanted a true tube reverb and was just about to get the Valve Train but went this route since I could get it locally….

I have a Tremolux as well...and am looking for the closest thing to a Fender combo reverb for it. I have been considering Reverbmate, Roommate, and saving up for a true tube outboard Fender style or RI.

What is the best was to turn my Tremolux AB763 into a Super Revrb AB763?

I have heard the outboards are darker sounding as Mackay mentioned. I dont mind a little dark/warmth...isnt there a tone pot anyway?

The tone pot work only on the wet signal, not the dry signal.

I guess you could use a true bypass box to defeat the loss of sparkle when the reverb is not in use then...right?

Have the signal go from guitar to looper pedal to reverb back to looper to amp, and use the looper to engage/disengage effect.

I do this with vintage effects.

Of course, you could. Never try it, because my rev is always ON :)

Me too. I have noticed I like no reverb on really heavy distortion..or a delay instead of reverb.
