Just got one used at GC...love it. It's a stock gray tolex model and in excellent condition...probably about 10 years old. I see no reason to change anything at this point. Just dumped all my pedals on ebay...playing bareback with this amp. The Blue Marvels are surprisingly good. It's got Sovteks in it...I'll wait until a tube change is needed then pop in some JJ's.
Makes me wonder how different the 15" version sounds.

Can anyone tell me what a tube change will do for this amp? I changed from Sovteks to JJ's in my Bravo and I honestly didn't hear much difference.

Just ordered a JJ for the V2...maybe that will smooth the drive a bit...we'll see. I'm happy with the clean and the headroom.

I have one of these (tho it doesn't get used much sense I've gone 6L6) and can tell you that my JJ tube swap was a MAJOR IMPROVEMENT!!! I first did just there standard retube and was VERY happy but then did the gold "premium" and was BLOWN AWAY!!! Major improvement in overall tone and response.
oh and no I don't work for them or have any financial type relationship...I'm just a happy customer |

It has been awhile since I commented on this forum, but anyway, I owned and played a 15" delta for several years, liked it for the most part (a little tough getting the mids the way I wanted), found that it would actually kick some real butt when using a 2 x 12 extension cab loaded with Peavey Sheffields along side the DB w/15". I once played a DB 2 x 10 and found that it was really a much sweeter sounding amp than the 1 x 15 (I had both of them side by side with the same guitar etc.). I ended up buying a 4 x 10 DeVille instead (traded the DB 15) because of the better headroom but it eventually went by the way of another trade on another day and year . . . . . .

Wow, small club but hey there all losing out. I perferred the 2x10 over the 115. Btw my am came with all JJ in the power section and E.H. in the pre amp. So buttery and creamy, absolutely love it. I just sold my Bogner alchemist and bought brand new the Peavey Delta Blue 210 and a Gibson SG at a local music store for a great deal. I feel good about the whole deal, evryone is happy and I cannot wait to post video's with my new deltablues.
I have some pretty baddass 10 inch speakers at home already but I love the stock one's just fine right now, and the tubes are what I would of put in there anyway so a win win tonight boys. I love the tweed and feel proud it's made here in the good ole U.S.A.. Handsigned qc cards which I never got from my chinese amps and this deltablues has the tube dampners on the tube's so I'm stoked all around. |

I now have JJ's in the pre amp as well, they sound great as well. I lost all of my volume and oomph so i took the amp back, they gave me another that squealed took that back and the owner was pissy and said pick one or choose another amp,, I out of gas chose the lower volume one and fixed the first dodgy pre amp tube he was unwilling to fix and all is well, he is still ordering me a new one and I'll swap with him if I choose when he calls, if he keeps his word. If not I'm screwed cause I'll have no more store's to play guitar in, I get very stubborn when over the course of 20 years I single handily put his daughter through college with my purchases.
So much drama and waste of a day off, but I do love this amp and it's tone, so classic and old school. Has anyone tried the new 210's or 115? I was curious if anything changed tonewise or is it just cosmetics, i know they discontinued the black tolex model. |

Has anyone tried nos pre amp tubes in this amp, if so can you comment on your results. Looking to experiment. I find the JJ's tend to be a lil dark for me with this amp already being a lil dark. They sounded great when I first put them in and actually do sound great but not really what I'm looking for.

Got one last night.... clean channel is sweet. Weird how I found it. Went to trade for a guitar and walked out with the DB 210.
![]() I'll post comments down the road on tube swaps. Right now it has JJ's, but I've got 4 RCA 6BQ5's to try. I'm thinking the pre-amp tubes are what to focus on though, as e-merlin noted. |

I'm in the club! I have a 2X10. One of the best values in production tube amps IMO. I have no experience with the 15, but dig 2x10's in a combo. I don't gig with it anymore, since I scored a Dr Z maz 18, but still use it as a backup. And now my rhythm guitar player has glommed onto it so it's back in the mix!!
i use the clean channel, and run a BD in front for a nice crunchy tone. The tremelo is very good, reverb is OK. I need to get a tube protector across the back, those babies are just there hanging close to the back of the cab!! bought mine used 6 or 8 years ago for $300, again great value for this amp!!! Anyone try different speakers than the blue marvels?

nice amp man, I don't know about speaker swaps yet in this amp, I'm still letting my marvels break in. I have however just swapped every tube. I put all the new stock one's away for a rainy day, but I went with 4 mullard reissue power tubes, and for v1 tungsol reissue,v2 ruby HGac7 and v3 the Sovtek LPS, love this combination for new production tubes. Really made a huge difference, opened the amp up and it breathes now if that makes sense. I also just found out that usually everyone hates the boost button for the mid boost but if you own an eq pedal, try it out. I just did and wow, you get this open boost but then bring the mids down and your still left with this big open sound, now i'm not talkin bout scoopin mids just bringing down the overly zealous mids peavey packed into that button.
I'm not sure what will be good for speakers in this amp cause im diggin the stock one's so if anyone gets the cravin for a speaker swap let me know. I have a scumback and a ragin cajun just sitting here but I can't bring myself to swap the marvels out, I just bought the amp with no hours on it so they really need to break up before I say swap time. Welcome to the small but tasty sounding club called the Delta Blues |

I've got a 2x10 that I bought several years ago. I've replaced the tubes with Eurotube's Blues Option. I also replaced the speakers with Webers but darned if I remember which ones. Those two changes REALLY opened this thing up. The Webers have a lot of depth to them and the tubes really sweetened the sound.
I took it upon myself to open it up and install the Master Volume mod. It works GREAT for the clean channel but is useless for the OD channel as you have to turn it up all the way or the OD channel is too weak. That causes issues switching between channels. It also introduced a hum if I don't have a cable plugged into the Effects Loop which is odd. I am also jumping the effects loop with a short cable. That actually makes a nice little difference. You should try it if you don't have anything in the effects loop already But with the Master Volume you turn the Clean Volume up to 10 and the Master to 4 or 5 and it sparkles like you wouldn't imagine. Sounds awesome! I just ordered a Fulltone Full Drive 2 and plan to use that as the main OD. I am hoping to do the Tweed Bassman mod from Blue Guitar as well as Cathode Biasing. That is supposed to really open things up. But I'm sure that's far down the road especially if the Fulldrive keeps me happy. |

I just sold that same fulldrive pedal, sounded good but I have too say the amp sounds better. I haven't found a pedal yet that has sounded better than my dirty channel for the same amount of crunch if that make's sense.
I have a lovepedal eternity fuse and it sounds as though it's trying to sound like my amp but the amps valve's just sound so much better. I still cannot stress enough how brilliant tht mid boost button is, I am going to post a video because if you play any zeppelin, free, cream anything with that honk in it, that button with an eq pedal and amps own eq really opens everything up and it breaks right through in a mix. I believe that when the mid boost is off this amp sounds scooped to me now, I am so used to using it on. I guess if your playing in your room it soiunds good off but I am a believer that whoever designed it wasnt sleeping at the wheel, really had some foresight, at least thinking of the gigging guitarist |

Well I just wanted to let anyone know who owns this amp I went ahead and swapped out the stock speakers with an Eminence Ragin Cajun and a Scumback SA-10 M75, this combonation sounds great together, I didn't buy them together thinking yeah this combo will work, it was dumb luck that there both great speakers and they work great together. I initially bought them for other amps to replace speakers.
So now my d.b. 210 has 4 el84 TAD Power tubes,,V1 Tungsol V2,Ruby HG+,, V3 Sovtek LPS. THe amp really is a beast now, I have some vintage pedals, one being a tubesreamer and let me tell you, I woiuldn't trade this amp for nothing in it's price point. I don't use much gain but the amp is capable of some pretty amazing grit. |

I just love my Db 2x10, what a work horse! Mine is all original and I'm happy with that. It takes my pedal board real well, but sometimes just going direct impresses the h*ll out of me. Check out the great reviews over at harmony central and you can see it's got quite he following.

I just got this amp yesterday and I love it. I am still in the beginner phase of my guitar playing. I came on here trying to find a nice sounding tube amp that I can play in my room or with other musicians down the road. This should fill that need. I found this on on Kijiji from somebody moving across the country. I only paid $250. I just ordered the tube protector last night off eBay. Next step is pedals. Any suggestions I love blues, old rock of any type, new rock of any type and some country. I would like to be ready to play the widest range of music possible. Any suggestions on must have pedals to go with this nice amp. I am very new because all of my previous amps have been modeling amps. Any suggestions for pedals and their uses with the delta blues amp would be welcome. I have never owned a pedal of any kind so any help would be appreciated. I was also looking for tips on tone settings on the amp itself. I have been looking on the net for some suggestions just to use at a starting point but I am finding it difficult to find any advise on tone other than play with the buttons. Lol that is what I am doing but I really would like to know what setting you use and why you use them. I know alot is personal taste but I hear some guys playing and I go omg how is he getting that sound. Since we all have the DB I would like to know what you are doing with the knobs and pedals to sound so friggin good. Thanks for reading my rant. Lol. I really would love some suggestions from experienced musicians.
