Picked mine up this summer, excellent amp! I love both my Tele and Les Paul through it

I just picked up one of these over the weekend - great tones in this thing! So far I've just been using my Ric 330 with it; it sounds so good I haven't got around to using a Tele or LP or any other guitar with it yet. I figure that I'll just put it through its paces one guitar at a time - this might take awhile, but it's a great way to waste time.

Im looking for more headroom from mine and was thinking about some 12au7 tubes .Any other ideas ? Anyone done a tube change with sucess? I threw some 12ax7 Groove Tubes in that I had laying around and sounded better but broke up even earlier than the stock tubes.

I was considering an Egnater Rebel 20 head, but once I heard those Voxy cleans......... This is without a doubt the best amp I've ever owned. Couldn't sound better with my Texas Specials. Top Boost is pretty sweet as well, wouldn't change a thing.

I still think this amp need a Celestion Blue. Anyone installed one? As I said in a previous post, my Weber BD Alnico wouldn't fit. Bummer. I love that speaker.

I played one again & loved it!
Top Boost vs Normal channels; They sounded very similar to me. Is the only real difference the treble & bass knobs which are available on the Top Boost channel? |

Just picked one up from CL. Minty clean, $425.
I thought that I only really liked a Tele through them, but my LP is delicious through it too! I just got a Marshall Class 5 recently too. I'm caving to all the new "amp du jours". |

I got one back in June or so. For the most part I really like it. Both channels are nice. I find myself playing the top boost more, though, so I can have enough treble to use the Duncan Seth Lover (neck slot) of my tele. Then I roll most of the tone off when using the bridge and it can get nice and fat. My one complaint: ITS TOO LOUD. A band that I gig with has a very powerful PA system and they like to keep stage voulme down real low so I only get to run the Master and Top boost Vol around ~2. I wish Vox made something like an AC7-8 in a head. Then I might get a nice 2x10 cab or something in hopes that I might get some fatter clean tones. Maybe the AC4 with a proper cab, mic-ed up would be plenty.
Also, a fellow that frequents a jam in my hometown brought in his Les Paul (not sure of the model, p-90s, though) and he never uses my pedals, just straight into the top boost channel. Tons of verb. He sounds GREAT through that amp (although he probably sounds great through everything he uses). A friend of mine has a strat and I can't say I love the way the strat sounds through it. One final note. I found a cheap ABY switch at a local music store to blend the channels. It sounded KILLER, but the switch was super noisy, so I let it go. I plan to by one from loop-master soon. |

well fellas I just sold my egnater rebel 20 and purchased a brand new vox ac15,, O how I have alway's craved that crunch and jangle. I'm in tone nirvana right now, so simple yet it does exactly what I need it too. Very sharp looking amp..
Question I need to buy the footswitch it didn't come with amp, does it just turn the f/x on and off??? I got some money off of the amp so I will use that to purchase pedal if that is was the pedal does. No regrets here, I have always heard em and gas'd for one but never had the scratch, perfect timing this week I traded for a les paul and got this vox today, I'm a happy man. |

Middleman good Idea but g.c. is not so local to me so I have to just pony up and buy one. They have one about 50 minutes from me, but there support and stock is horrible. The mangement told me 2 days ago on the phone when I was aquiring about getting a vox,"we don't stock anything boutique or close to good" around christmas time,we just stock line6 amps that parents will buy for there kids. I was just turned off for the final time. Sorry to rant, it's a good idea just not in my neck of the wood's. I'll find one online.

I have had mine for about a week, it loves my 52 AVRI Tele. At first I was using the top boost channel and bathing in the shimmering tones, but the last few days it has been normal channel, with the top cut full CCW. Simple and awesome.

I bought one a few months ago. Best damn amp ever. I just ordered a Vox Mini3, and it's supposed to be arriving tonight. I guess I'll have to start a thread for that one.
