Can you jump the channels on the AC15C1
I'm not an owner yet but I seriously considering this amp. Can the channels be jumped, similar to an AC30C2, with an ABY switch?
EDIT: I found this over in the Amp Central Station forum. It appears that it can be done without any serious phase issues. Either with a Y cable or ABY switch...seems the switch would give the best of all worlds. Jumping Channels Peace, Mark

Seriously considering moving my HotRod Deville 212 down the road to make room for one of these. At this point, 15 watts with a audio taper pot seems to be a better bet than 60 watts on a linear taper pot. Plus, I run a PODxt Live at church and the patch I use the most is an AC-15 patch. Gotta get to my local music store and give one a whirl

http://www.voxamps.com/forum/topic.php?id=2257 Yes - You just need to use an A/B/Y Box to run into both inputs. The Y selection will be both of the channels with the pre-amps running parallel.

AC15C1 amp cover : http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AC15C1cvr/ I have been wanting one of these for years. when they revamped it with the Greenback I knew I had to have it. I got a 20% off coupon in an email from an online retailer that is a friend of musicians + free shipping, no tax, what a deal. I have played it with both the internal speaker and an Epiphone valve Jr. extension cab @8ohms and it's pretty sweet! |

I've been using an Ernie Ball volume pedal to jump the 2 channels. The 'tuner out' (which is always on) goes to the normal channel and the regular volume output to the Top Boost channel. The volume pedal then can be used to control the 2nd channel. Much better than an ABY IMO because you can swell in the 2nd channel as much as you want instead of just on/off. Pretty sweet with this amp!!
I've also tried sending the 'tuner out' to my PRRI set clean and the volume out to the Vox. Man, THAT is a great sounding setup! I may use this config this weekend and see how it goes. BC |

Im an AC15C1 owner today and couldnt be happier. Wow its been a while since my last tube amp. Been playing SS for @ 10 past years and cant beleive what Ive been missing. No more modeling amps for me. Good Bye Line 6 spider III 2x12..me thinks your getting traded in for a new Tweaker in a few weeks.
Anyway, this is my 1st ever Vox amp and I love the tone of it. |

Actually, I forgot to mention that I have my tuner in line with the normal channel so I can kill the A and just get the B if needed. BUT, the 2 channels sound so good together I don't think I'll do that very often.

Guitar into Ernie Ball Volume pedal (VP Jr.) which has a tuner out and a volume out: Tuner out (which is always on, even when the pedal is heel down) goes to my tuner and then on to the normal channel of the Vox. Volume out goes to the Top Boost channel on the Vox. Using the volume pedal I can add any amount of the Top Boost channel I want to the Normal channel. I LOVE this aspect since you can go from clean to mean and anything in between instead of the typical on/off. That's always been my beef with pedals - no in between at all. And with this amp the 2 channels blend perfectly. The Top Boost channel sounds exactly like the Normal channel in you want it too (EQ settings) and sounds like you're turning up a gain knob. Same tone just more of it. The other post was referring to the option of getting ONLY the Top Boost channel with no Normal channel mixed in. I was just saying that since my tuner is in line with the normal channel I can activate the tuner to mute that channel. Now I'm experimenting with separate OD pedals on each channel and the mixing of the two. Wow, someone ask me if we're having fun yet? |
