Vox VT30 Owners Club.
Well I see a lot of Vox amp clubs but I don't see one for the VT30. And since I just bought one I decided to start the club. I'm sure there are more of them out there. Its a great little amp.
Here is my VT30 along with my '73 Tele.

This will have to include the other Vox Valvetronix like the AD30 since they're the same thing.
Vox Valvetronix, the modelling amp you can gig.

I have had the AD30VT for about three years and have been really happy with it. It's my main practice amp. I mostly use the Black 2X12 with a little reverb with any other effects coming from my pedalboard. The only models I don't use much are the high gain ones. I also sprayed the chrome grill a nice shade of flat black.

I've had mine for for a few months now. I am super pleased with it. It an excellent home amp. I might even be a little bit big for home amp. At least mine will get louder than I can handle it in the basement. This is my first Vox amp, but I don't think it will be my last.

I looove my AD30. Sometimes I underestimate it... till I turn it on again. I use the AC15 setting mostly (it figures that Vox's best modelling would be their own, right?), but use the AC30TB for humbucker guitars. Oh, and I didn't care for the 'Black 2x12' model at first, with a little due diligence, I finally found a pretty sweet setting for that. Waaay too much fun for $230.
I only wish it had a 12" speaker. If I ever need to gig with it, I'll probably try to find the bigger 50w version, just to move more air. |

I bought an AD30 when they first came out, and I still love it. I love the AC-15 and the Tweed 4x10 models.
Has anyone tried gigging with the 30? I would think it's too small, but it can get pretty loud, too.

This is a really helpful explanation why the chrome VTs may seem tinny and thin at stage volumes. A must read: How to Get Great Tone from Valvetronix at Gigging Volume
Useful forum too.

I've got no idea if there's a seperate VT50 thread, nor can I see the point in starting one anyway, so here goes...
![]() It's not bad for the money really. Once you get used to the plethora of knobs and switches, it's quite a fun little amp. Looks the business as well. |
