I will play, my '74ish 65 Reverb with a 2x15" Bassman front ported cab, along with a couple of my old friends and a '52 I am getting to know better.
![]() My newest guit, a 2003 Japanese Antigua. ![]() I like this pic the most though.

For 31 years, I have used a Music Man RD-100 head. It has been in the shop twice; once to fix the on-off switch, and a second time to replace a cracked tube socket that happened when a monsoon hit the outdoor stage during a show and about a gallon of water went into the back of the head while I was playing. At one gig, it fell six feet off the top of a loaded dolly on to solid concrete. Worked perfectly. I drive two JBL E-110's in an open back cab, and I am constantly complimented on my sound. These amps are indestructable. Took me awhile to get used to the solid state front end - just a bit on the cold side - but the tube output stage warms it up. And I never have to deal with noisy microphonic 12AX7's.

No pics yet, but I have been using a Musicman 210RD one hundred combo as my only amp for the past 2 years now. With a modern dirtbox in front of it I can get a wide variety of sounds. I recently started playing with a group that is a bit more "traditional" shall we say. After the first few jams they asked me to "clean it up" a bit. I thought about it and realized that I have the ultimate clean machine IMO. A tele into a Musicman. It's like learning to play again.
Also bullet proof. What I need now is a cover. |

No doubt one of the best things I've ever heard was a Tele I had plugged into a MM 210 65 I had in the shop repairing about 6 months ago - didn't want to give it back. I see some unbelievable tone machines come through here and the shimmering cleans that MM delivered along with punch and touch sensitivity was almost chewy. I can still feel it when I think about it. Yes, its an actual feeling with that kind of punch and clarity. The one I had was all tube except the recitifier. Truly a match in heaven for a country player or any player really with the right boxes in front of it. Couldnt be a better clean basis to start from. I wouldn't hesistate to buy one if I ever find one. Built tough too - like a tank.

I'm in......
'79-ish 210-65 and an '81 212 HD-150.The 210 is flat-out the best-sounding,most reliable amp I have ever owned.I bought it new and it's still bone stock. The 212,while it's never broken down on me,has never sounded very good either.Way too much top end,and zilch for bottom end.Had Celestions(G12M70s,I think) in it when I got it used.Swapped them for a pair of old reconed Fender/Utahs.Better on the bottom, but too low-powered for a 150 watt amp.Swapped them out for a pair of Eminence 1218s.Better yet on the bottom, but not up to snuff and still screechy on the top.Got a question for all you amp gurus: Could somebody have gone under the hood and changed something to almost eliminate the lows and emphasize the highs? Is that kind of mod possible on these amps? Could a component have aged out of spec? It almost seems as though this amp was optimized for a Les Paul or some other HB-loaded guitar, because it certainly dislikes single-coils. I'm even more puzzled because the Celestions went from this amp into a Bassman-clone cab(closed back) and now have marvelous lows. All that aside,I'm convinced that Ernie Ball or whoever owns the rights to Music Man amps is missing out on a good thing by not putting them back into production, although if someone did do that,I'd hope they would pay the same attention to the electronics as Leo did. |

I just traded a Blues Jr for a MM HD210 130 watt. Can any one tell me if the speakers should be run on the 4ohm or 8 ohm on the switch in back ?
Sound like a good trade ?

4 ohm setting.
The two 8 ohm speakers in the combos are wired in parallel for a 4 ohm total load. When using a 4 ohm or 8 ohm external cabinet in addition to your internal speakers, set switch at 8 ohm setting. |

There hasn't been anyone around that forum for quite a while. I think you can send them an e-mail though.
HD-150 head here. Great workhorse amp that has done everything for me.

I'm thinking of selling my '74 or '76ish (can't remember which year) HD130 Reverb head if anyone is interested. Just gone through middle of last year, tremolo works now. Everything else is clean. |

11265-RD here...
Just finished replacing all the electrolytics on board (first time ever working on a PC board--scarey) and just put in a pair of those military Russian Saratov 6P3S-E (6P3C-E) as I figure they would take the 700v on high power setting best of any 6L6. Clean machine, but I'm thinking of trying an Eminence RWB in this.
