Count me in! I don't have any pics at the moment, but I'll see what I can do.
We should have a contest where we take pictures of our Pathfinders in remote locations. First one with a picture of their Pathfinder at the summit of Mt. Everest wins!

Well, if you were going to take an amp to the top of Mt. Everest, a Pathfinder would be a lot easier than, say, an AC30.

I have one of the Pathfinder 2 x 10 mini-stacks. It's a really fun amp.

I have.
I'm sure it sounded great. The the reason why I put it that way is because when you're in an 8 piece ska/cumbia/rock'n roll band, and the other guitar player is rockin' a Fender 4x10 and a) the sound guy doesn't turn you up in the monitors or b) there are no monitors, it tends to put a damper on your gigging experience with an otherwise bang-for-the-buck amp. All you have to go on is what other people say about how you sounded, and most of them are drunk off their asses, so... |

Sorry I missed this one. Fellow TDP'r porkadon gigs his. He's in a blues band and has two. He has told me that he sometimes uses one and still gets asked to turn down.
I installed a 10" speaker in mine and will be playing it for the first time in a live setting two days from today. Its a pretty loud jam and sometimes has two drummers, Allman Brothers style. The jam will be recorded, audio & video, so I'll eventually be able to post the results. I haven't seen any Pathfinder 10 owners post yet. Some of you may have read in Amp Central my Pathfinder "mini stack" thread. I borrowed my brother-in-law's P10 that I gave him and ran it through my P15. Sounds great and is voiced differently than the P15. I wonder if he'd let me have it back. |

I picked a non-reverb Pathfinder up on CL a while back and it hasn't disappointed. I remember playing through one years ago and remarking how natural it sounded, so when the need arose for a knock-around solid state amp at our house, the Pathfinder was top of the list.

Man, I don't know what you guys are doing... but I can't seem to get a good dirt tone out of this amp at all, and I've tried it with 4 different electrics. I even swapped out the stock speaker for a Weber AlNiCo Sig. 8S. I don't get it... I tried this amp out at a Guitar Center and LOVED it, so I immediately asked my g/f for it for Christmas. When I got it and started playing with it, I was like
I dunno, I can get a DECENT dirt sound out of it at best, but nothing that truly inspires me. So nowadays I just set it for clean and use dirt pedals.I really, really, want to love this amp, but... |

I just reinstalled the stock speaker, and now it sounds better. I don't know why I ever thought the speaker needed to be swapped in the first place.
Now I just need to figure out what to do with this Weber.. It's an AlNiCo Signature 8S. Forgot to mention that. |

I picked a used one up for dirt cheap at my fav pawn shop several months ago. The stock 8" speaker puts out some decent volume and it sounds great with single coils and buckers. The great thing about this little gem is how good it sounds with a guitar plugged straight in....that said, it's taken very well to every pedal I've run through it. Small, lightweight, great tone and a pretty decent amount of headroom. I like em!

I've got one too (the earlier version with tremolo but no reverb) - got it in a trade for a mic I wasn't using. I didn't think it'd sound like much, but it looked cool, so I decided to fire it up and - wow - great Vox tone straight in. Probably the best soundling small SS non-modeling amp I've played through.

I finally got to play an AC4TV about a week or so ago, and I liked it. The speaker needed to be broken in, but its a cool little amp. The built in attenuator was a nice feature and worked very well. Not much too it, but I like amps like that. If I had a spare $250 lying around, I'd pick one up, but I already have a SF Vibro Champ that more than fulfills my needs for a low watt tube amp. In a head to head contest, I would have to go with the Pathfinder. Just sounded a little better to me, plus it has Reverb & Tremelo. I'm finding it harder and harder to live without those two features.

Yes, an old tube amp from 1965. I have owned three of the more recent Vox Pathfinders, a combo without reverb, a piggyback 2 x 10 & a piggyback 4 x 8. I thought they were all good sounding amps.

The Voxy box...
The used Vox Pathfinder 15 (no reverb) has arrived with its relic corner & original blue speaker and great SS sound.
For a gooood clean, set Gain & Volume at 10-11 o'clock w/ no trem, and enjoy your Voxy box riffs. However, the possibilites are seemingly-endless... |
