Peavey Pickers Social Club!

Decided to take advantage of the new feature here, so let's have a Peavey club! Tube, SS, it's all good here as long as it's Peavey!

My amps-

Peavey TT Red Stripe Studio Pro 112
Peavey TT Bandit 112
Peavey TT Red Stripe Bandit II
Peavey Bravo 112

I'll be mostly gigging now with the Studio Pro. I stuck a Sheffield from one of the Bandits in there, and it turned into a serious beast, in a tiny little package.

What's everybody else got?

Bass amps, guitar amps, brain wave amplifiers... If it says Peavey on it it's all good here!

what can i say about peavey? half the equipment i've owned has said peavey on it. gigged through the 80's with a mark III head and a jazz cabinet bottom. right now i'm sitting next to a peavey 2x15 cab(yeah baby!), i run this under my deville 212 for that extra---uumph. my next amp will be an session 500. these things are kind of a holy grail to me. my old neighbor has one. ya ever lay into a session 500? i mean really lay into session 500?...it's a good thing.

Just bought a Delta Blues 1x15! Great amp, that's way below the "boutique" radar.

Went through the Peavey stage....will go back I think.
Don't have them anymore but here's what I have had with Hartley's last name on them:

Rage practice amp
Classic 50 2x12
Classic 50 4x10
Classic 20

The Classic 50 2x12 would have to have been the bargain of the century.
Dude had painted the Tweed black as he wanted a different look. I bought it unseen and unplayed as he lived several hundered miles away from me. When at the time they were selling for around $1800 NZD new, I picked it up for $350.00 NZD.

Overall though I do so miss my Classic 20!! Had a Weber 10A100 fitted and I was running a 5751 in V1. Very nice tones with my tele...

Oh well, such are the advantages and disadvantages of having GAS and two ears....

Ok, I'll play:

Aside from some driver amps I use for PA, I have:
Classic 50/50 rack mount bridged to 100w (using a Tubefex for a preamp)
Newer Bandit 112
Rage practice amp
Supreme 100w head
Special 130 (circa 1982)

The 50/50 / tubefex driving an Avatar 2x12 cab is my main gigging amp
I use the Bandit for smaller gigs

Guess I should mention my Tubefex, as well as the MIDI Pro I picked up. I'm going to rackmount a few amps and have a really versatile rig...

I've played through a Peavey Classic 30 a couple times at one of the local guitar stores here. Very nice amp indeed. It's the first amp I go to whenever I try out a guitar because it's so easy to dial in a good tone. Hell, I'd buy it if I didn't already have an Ampeg Reverberocket RI and a Carvin Bel Air, both of which I'm perfectly happy with.

I also have an Audition 110 that's collecting dust in my closet as we speak. It was one of my very first amps. I stopped playing it as soon as I got my Ampeg and a Vox Pathfinder some time after that, mainly because the reverb doesn't work anymore and it makes a pretty bad buzzing noise due to a messed-up input jack. I really need to fix it though, because I've been very impressed with the dirt channel the very few times I've brought it out since then. I guess I was too much of a n00b to realize how good that amp is.

I'm in! I switched from PRS through Roland JC's to Reverends through Peaveys a few months ago (my style is pretty rootsy and basic, so the old setup wasn't exactly the perfect fit). I have recently acquired;

80's Peavey Backstage Plus
2009 Peavey Envoy (great living room amp for warm clean tones--really!)
2008 Peavey Royal 8 w/Jensen MOD (tons of cheap low-volume Class A fun)

I am soon to be the proud owner of a NEW Peavey Classic 30 (I got a great price, so I ordered one yesterday).

A big "thank you" goes out to the many here at TDPRI who freely shared their wisdom and insights, making this decision a much easier one for me.

I think the C30 will fit in very nicely with my Fender BJr and PJr. What can I say, I love EL84s!

Studio pro 40---SS---I'm the original owner from back in the mid 80's. Replaced stock speaker w/ an Eminence Swamp Thang--it adds a nice low end that was missing before.

These days I'm playing a Twin but you guys got me thinking about my old Peavey VT Classic 50 that I gigged with in the eighties. Last year I put a couple of Texas Heats in it but still wasn't that happy with the sound I got using my Strat. Just bought a new American Standard Tele and reading these posts made me realize I hadn't tried the Tele out on the Peavey yet.

Well I just did and my oh my clean to die for. Best part is she's got a solid state preamp with tubes for power. Nice and silent for home practice. Thanks for reminding me about my Peavey.
