Tweed Classic 30 for a number of years now (logo removed). I also have the matching 1X12 cab -- makes a great mini-stack.

I used to have a Classic 20, but it wasn't doing much for me. LOVE the C30, though; it's seen me through many gigs. :-) CS

I love my Transtube Peaveys. I could rave about them all day - best solid state amps around. Cheap too, especially if you get 'em S/H.
I have a black and silver TT Studio Pro 112 fitted with an Eminence Delta LFA, a redline TT Studio Pro 112 which is all stock and a TT Rage 158 fitted with an 8" Jensen Mod speaker. I can get nearly any tone I want out of these amps.

Well I got a older Peavey Bandit a 80 watter that I suspect will be regulated for back up status. Great amp no doubt but any gigging I will be doing will be with my Fender PA 100 which is pretty much a Twin Reverb in a slightly different package. `

Well, guys, I have joined the Peavey club. This evening I won an eBay auction for an Envoy.

Judging by the manual I downloaded from the Peavey website, it's a 1995 or thereabouts. It has the following features: next to the input, the 6 dB switch/button above the channel select switch/button; the wedged-shaped white indicators on black knobs; the "THRASH" switch/button above the Gain switch/button; etc.

Should be a week or so before I get it, so now comes the GAS, which in this case stands for "Gear Anticipation Syndrome" !!!

My plan is to buy several Peavey amps, as in at least three. I'll do my own comparison tests, then one of the three will go to my son, and perhaps I'll re-sell another. Then again, I may hold on to two for variety (provided I can sell the wife on the idea).

Larry...I'm in the same phase. I have a 3rd gen Envoy, an 80's Backstage Plus, and a pre-TT Blazer on the way. The Backstage is getting an Eminence Ragin' Cajun, and the Blazer is getting a Jensen MOD 8. It'll be interesting to see how they compare. So far, I'm digging the cleans on the Envoy big time...

Long time Peavey fan, but haven't had one of their amps in years.

Just picked up a scratch and dent Bandit 112 from AMS for 209.95. Going to put her though the paces this weekend...

Classic 50 410 here, with the 115 extension cab. Also have a Session 500 for my steel and occasionally for Tele, and a TT Revolution 112 with the 112 extension cab for rocking out.

Well to this point I'm not looking at tube amps. I've been checking eBay and the local Craig's List daily for some used and/or older SS Peavey amps. Checked a local pawn shop too, but nothing. So far I'm looking mainly at Envoys, Studio Pros and Bandits.

My Peavey Envoy 110 arrived late yesterday afternoon. From then to now I have played my Logan Custom Tele style guitar (mahogany solid body w/ a P-90 pup in the neck) through it for about 3 hours, so to this point I’ve barely begun to figure out all this amp can do. I can say though that this thing blows me away…literally. This amp is loud, has a great clean sound and great bottom end, a nice thump to the bass.

Jeeze I've had a bunch...
Decade
Backstage Plus
Studio Pro 40
TT 1 Studio Pro
TT2 Envoy
TT1 Rage
Currently a Mini Colossal....
Growing up the 2x12 Classic VT was THE gig amp that all the "big kids" had..it was affordable, looked like what all the southern boys were playing & sounded pretty good.
Some day I will buy one& piss off the entire court..

Tell me more about the Mini Colossal. I've never even seen one, let alone played one.

1982 Peavey Citation
loud is an understatement...

I keep thinking about getting rid of it because it's heavy and really too loud for anywhere I play, but I haven't found a replacement that I like and that I can afford, so it stays for now.

Just bought a Peavey Studio Pro 40 on eBay.

Still in care of UPS - hope to have it by the weekend. If this is even 1/4th as good and versatile an amp as I have been told, I will be delighted with it.
It seems to be an older one, maybe mid '80's, US made, and is missing the footswitch, which I will get in a few weeks. Have already downloaded the manual from Peavey's site.

I also have an old Peavey Basic 40 amp - have owned it for nearly 20 years - use it for a bass amp for my Peavey USA made Foundation from '92, one of the 3 all time best basses I have ever owned since I started playing 47 years ago.

I also used to have a Peavey guitar, model long forgotten, but a very fine instrument and I may be looking for another this winter. The problem with that guitar was that I was dumb enough to sell it.

I love Peavey stuff, amps and instruments, and I have stopped looking at other brands of amp. NO ONE makes better equipment.

Well, I pulled the trigger again. And to my wife's credit, she was perfectly fine with the purchase.

Before I talk about my new Peavey, I figured this thread needs more pics, so I'm including pics of my recently acquired Envoy. Note: I haven't taken my own pics yet, so these are the seller's pics, taken from his eBay auction page.

I'll follow up in a separate post with pics and description of my just won Sudio Pro.

Okay, now for the newest acquisition. It's so new, in fact, that the transaction is technically still in process. I just won an eBay auction for a 1994/5? vintage Studio Pro 110. 65 W RMS into 8ohms. It sounds like it has been lightly used by the original owner and is in very good condition. The seller is including a Peavey 2 button footswitch. I am jazzed about getting a PV w/ 2 inputs, and I'm looking forward to comparing this one to the Envoy.

Here are the seller's pics from his eBay auction page.

A new Peavey Picker

Well I'll just add this.
My niece's 10 th birthday was this year
here she is

she's playing a Starcaster her folks got her a year or two ago.
Well I wanted to get her a guitar so I sold one of mine and bought her a sweet little vintage Peavey T30 with the amp case. personally I think rocker chicks are awesome.

I did the same experience with my peavey classic 50. I've been using a fender blues deluxe for a long time, because I didn't like the sound of my strat with the Peavey. But then for some weeks ago, i did a gig with my Tele. And I must say that I'm glad I kept it... Now, I won't sell it. My tele, dyna-comp, Fulltone ocd, slapback echo and I'm in heaven... :-)

has anyone seen a 100 watt 1X12 tube Bandit? I knew someone that had one and I've never been able to track down another. I'm not sure if it was a Bandit but I remember checking out all those 6L6's it had crammed into the cabinet.

Classic 30 here. Use it daily. Fantastic amp...a great value for the money! Sounds great with my Tele and Les Paul, although my recent addition of a 68 Fender Champ has gotten me itching to upgrade the C30!

Have you had problems with the Vypyr? Seems that the same 4 or 5 people are complaining about a couple of problems with them over on the Peavey board. They want a refund rather than to follow through with the warranty???

The Vypyr does have comp and slapback features right at your fingertips. Okay for what it is.

Been using Peavey since 1982. Right now i have a Heritage 212 and a Special 130 both mint. Sometimes i'll pull the 1974 twin out. I've used Scorpion speakers in every amp i've owned even my twin.

More than OK. It's got the best sounding clean of any SS amp I've ever played. The next gen Bandit should be killer.

Does this count enough to let me in the club? What was originally a Classic 30. All this was done by a previous owner.

WGS Reaper HP speaker
all new Groove Tubes
pots supposedly replaced with Orange stuff (and obviously the Orange Tolex...)

Some added switching - a "bright switch", "ground lift" and "feedback resistor" circuit. I haven't dug deep, yet, to check out exactly what was done. Supposedly this was all professionally done but the guy I got it from didn't know who had done it and had lost the original owner's contact info.

Here's another for the much maligned Valve King.
I use the 100 watt 2X12. I have a Duncan Convertible
that I LOVE, but I'm scared to death to take out on jobs anymore.
It's hard to find the modules anymore, and when I do, they are expensive.
So I bought the VK as an inexpensive gigging amp.

The VK gets badmouthed all over the place, which is ironic considering it's basically an old Fender circuit. I think the VK sounds excellent. And that's coming from someone who has owned old Twins, Deluxes, Supers and a black face Tremolux.

Peavey has the potential to have another classic amp on their hands if they'd just bring production back to the U.S. and put the VK in a pine amp casing\chassis instead of the particle board.

I'm thinking of buying either a Classis series head or a Duel 2X12 I've found in a local shop as spare\backup amps.

Peavey gets a bad rap. They have made some dogs. But then so have Fender, Marshall and other amp makers. so why don't the other companies get a bad rap for the crap they produce.

I love my VK and won't apologize to snobs for it.

Transtube Bandit, Redstripe. Circa 2003, I think. Wife calls it the Tormentor, but heck, she gave it to me. Disguised it as a fruitcake from Aunt Nora to get it into the house. I was suspicious - it was too light to be a fruitcake of that size.

Other amps: Evans 80.
