Opinions please, EV12ML in a DRRI

I'm considering putting an EV speaker in my Deluxe Reverb. I've heard (and owned) these in the past, so I know that they sound great. My question is, do you think that the 22 watts that this amp puts out will be enough to drive this speaker adequately? Thanks in advance.

Hey JonKay, I say go for the EV and don't look back! I've had this EV Force 10 speaker for a number of years and was always impressed how punchy it sounded in various cabinets it's been in. Finally, I got a chance to drop it in my 69 Princeton Reverb. It cured the flab, and even when I dime the amp volume it remains powerful and clear. The Princeton has 15 vibey watts. So I think your course is clear.

I also have a big Electrovoice 15L upstairs that I've been wanting to put in an extension speaker cabinet. I know it would kick it with the Princeton. No doubt your Deluxe would be lovin' life with a EV driver.

One of our forum buddies has one of Pete Anderson's deluxes now, and it is loaded with EV's. ....If it's good enough for Pete, well...... (^_^)

Yes. It'll sound just fine. Wide tone spectrum, loud and clear.

I often use a cabinet with two EVMs plugged into my little Marshall Studio 15, they sound great to me.
Speakers seem to be a personal like or dislike thing, I think Celestions dont sound too good.

Thanks,
Don

Hey JonKay,

Search out the thread titled: "Any Electrovoice love out there?" I started it awhile ago and there's a few pictures of people using EV's in their amps.... a great picture of the former Pete Anderson's Deluxe with EV's
