Well, all of my relatives have finally faced the fact that they should just give me money, because of my addiction to building, etc.
Although I was sorely tempted by this, for $500 shipped with a HSC:
I bought a bunch of amp building crap instead, for a couple of builds:
- 5F1- I'm gonna build a 5F1 in an old SS Harvard Reverb cab and chassis. I also stripped the old black tolex and I'm gonna Tweed it. I'm fired up about this one, and I hope to get a ton of use out of it
- 5e3- I think I'm gonna convert my 2 X10 Brown Vibroverb, which actually runs 6V6's, to a 5e3, so I bought crap for that. I'm also gonna replace one of the drivers (it's got 2 Weber 10A125-O's in it now) with a Weber Alnico Blue Pup (Ted's 10 inch version of the Vox Alnico Blue). The 5F1 will get the other 10A125
- Project #3 is some variant of a Marshall 1974X. For this one, I'm planning on building and tolexing the cab. So I bought a router, bits, and a dovetail jig, as well as some purple tolex and checker grill cloth. Yes, it will be garish and tasteless, but hopefully it will rock.. Buying the chassis and speakers will have to come later.
