Accutronics reverb tank replacement
The reverb in my Fender Super Twin Reverb is not functioning. Only with the reverb on level 10 I imagine hearing some of it. I tried pluging in the reverb tank from my friends Super Reverb and it worked better. That must mean my reverb tank is broken and my amp is OK, right? Can't get any sound out of my reverb tank other than the springs clashing when I shake it.
I've been looking on the Accutronics 4AB3C1B which should fit my amp. Not sure of the delay time though. Would long delay time sound as long/short as the orignal reverb or should I go with another setting? By the way, does anyone know of a reseller (web based preferably) anywhere in europe? I'm in Sweden and the shipping from the U.S. would cost as much as the tank itself. Last edited by dessibelle : February 7th, 2008 at 01:29 AM. |

Theres a link in the site you provided a link to for a distributor in Germany.
Im in the States, but I bought one last month by calling and ordering directly thru accutronics. Im sure if you emailed them they would send you a local distributor contact. |

European Distributor
The 3 spring sounds more lush, but it is a personal preference.

Oh thanks! I knew I'd seen a european reseller but I couldn't remember where I found the link so I started googling, without much luck. I was also able to find the same tank at a swedish reseller, which unfortunately was more expensive than the german and american shop.

www.tube-town.de in Germany also has them (the other one, TubeAmpDoctor, is really notorious for their extremely high prices...). But there's not going to be a whole lot of difference in price between ordering at lower prices from the US and pay for customs & shipping, or ordering at the higher price locally...

So, I just received my reverb tank, but I'm not entirely sure how it was connected before I removed it from the amp. Just to be sure, does the input connector on the back of the amp go to the input connector on the reverb tank (Amp-input -> Reverb-input), or is it the other way around (i.e. Amp-output -> Reverb-input). And while we're at it, would it damage the amp or the reverb tank if I connect it in the wrong way?
