Yellow label Mullard ECC83
I just put one in V1 of my Boogie and the whole tone quality seemed to increase by 50%. I didn't think this would be possible just from one little vacuum tube but it seems to be the case. This one was manufactured in England in 1963 supposedly. Any one else try them ?

I have one I just swapped from a 62/3 Selmer "Little Giant" into a 65ish Vox AC-50 Foundation Bass.
I can honestly say I got 100% better tone as the valve I replaced seemed to have died in the AC-50, but strangely enough it works fine in the Selmer. |

Haven't tried the Mullard trick but yes, NOS can throw up some beauties from time to time, only trouble sometimes can be matching it the next time.
Because of that i stick with boogies own branded 12AX/T7's, more pricey than i would really like but pretty dependable. Have you tried Watford valves yet ?, great company who seem to know what they are about.
