Two Classic 50 2 x12 combos, one with Weber Blue Dogs and JJs;

One Bandit II 1 x12 combo I'm giving to my brother-in-law.

USA made amplifiers for me only, Mr. Peavey.

Classic 20.

Over the years I have ' freshened' it up with a Jensen C10R speaker, Sovtek EL84Ms for more headroom - and a pair of whatever nice N.O.S. 12ax7s or 5751s I have hanging around.

( usually Jan / Philips but just now an original Mullard in V1 position ).

Sounds like a baby 'Twin' with the EHX 'Holy Grail' reverb in front of it .

Works great with my Baja Tele ! ..

Another Classic 30 here. Been using it in regular jams lately, and it just keeps sounding better.

Cheers,
cc

Classic 20 - just bought a Weber speaker for it to make it a little brighter.
Also, an old Classic 2x12 from the '70s - put some new tubes in it recently, and it now spends its time as a keyboard amp - sounds pretty good, too.

Amps:

3 Bravo 112s. One of my favorite amps. 3 12X7 tubes, 2 EL84 tubes. 25 Watts. Parallel Axis Geometry (PAG) design often makes people think it has no tubes. Wrong. One of these will easily keep up with a Dr. Z.

1 VTM 60. VTM means Vacuum Tube Modified. The "modifications" are switchable and accessed via a system of micro-switches. It's a single channel amp with 3 12AX7 tubes, 2 6L6 tubes, 60 watts. Between the Pre- and Post-Gain knobs, the Mod switches, and the High and Low Gain inputs (Low Gain input is 18dB less than the High Gain) you can get a wide variety of tones. Great clean on the Low Gain input. Plenty of crunch on the High Gain input. Lots of eBay hype about this being a Marshall clone, but really, 6L6es? Fantastic amp.

1 5150 Combo. Descendant of the VTM series. 5 12AX7 tubes, 2 6L6es, 60 watts. Plenty of gain if you want to use it. I have mine tamed with a couple of 12AT7s in place of a couple of 12AX7s. I also replaced the speakers with something a bit more to my liking. I don't play really high gain stuff, and this delivers great clean on the Rhythm channel. It still has plenty of gain on the Lead channel but I rarely use it.

Cabs:

2 Classic 412es cabs. These were built with the Sheffield 1230 speakers from the extension cabs for Peavey's Classic series. They are my favorite cabs, and have been discontinued, which is why I bought two of them. To my ears, these are great for that Tele twang.

Effects units:

1 TubeFex w/PFC10 controller. Midi controlled effects unit for guitar or bass. Yes, it has a couple of 12AX7 tubes, and it has just about every effect you could want and then some.

1 CS3 Compressor-Sustainer (best compressor I've ever owned)

Guitars:

1 Patriot. Mine is the el-chepo 1 humbucker guitar. 25" Scale length. I'm having trouble warming up to this one. It's pretty bright for a humbucker guitar.

1 Firenza P-90. The pickups in this guitar are the most insanely rude P-90s in existance. Great tone you'll never find in something made by Gibson. This guitar is really the definition of in-your-face.

2 T-15s. Very short scale (IIRC it's 23-1/2" scale). Pickups are the humbucker-sized Super Ferrites. Very P-90-ish, but more full range. Short scale makes some of those long-stretch weird Jazz chords actually reachable. I bought 'em for my daughters when they wanted to learn guitar, but I'm probably going to sell 'em, 'cause I'm getting rid of anything that isn't Tele-shaped. But, I'll probably build a Tele-style guitar with those pickups in it.

Although I don't currently use any Peavey amplification, as I bought a Matchless DC-30 in '94, I have used:

Classic (2 x 12 SS preamp tube power section) '83-'86
Nashville 400 '86-'89
Special 150 '89-'94 (still have this one)
CS 400 '80-'94 (still have this one)
