5E3 Valve Junior

Converting my VJ Cab to a 5E3 Tweeed without the tweed. Ordering a chassis to fit the Epi cab. It will be kind of cool and folks will be asking; Wow, what kind of Epi is that?? Already checked out all the specs and it will fit no problem. Can't wait.

That'll be neat...

Lyle Mays, when he went to North Texas State, had a big Wurlitzer emblem on the front of his Fender Rhodes, just get a chuckle from the questions.

No - no need to do away witht he VJ Head, I will just keep that as is. You see I have the head and matching cabinet. All I'm gonna do is use the cabinet. There is plenty of room all I have to do is a few mods to the cab.

Don't think the chassis will fit into the VJ Head anyway. But the matching cab is just about perfect. And actually is a better deal because it will allow me to keep the VJ head - perfect!

I have mixed feelings about putting a killer amp into a cheap, Chinese, PCB amp's cab...

Then again, I built a hybrid Marshall 18watt (preamp)/Fender 5E3 (6V6 power section) into a VibroChamp chassis (and have since cascaded the preamp like a Marshall JCM800/2203) and a BF Princeton Reverb modded for 6L6's into a matching VibroChamp chassis! Two Champ sized heads, one for Clean one for Dirty.

So I guess I'd be a hypocrit to talk trash HAHAHA!

Hey if you were a Valve JR wouldnt you want to become a 5E3?
I'm just doing what should have been done to it right off. Now as far as that cheap cab goes...I'm goind to mod it substantially. Should I find any glaring weaknesses I will certainly shore them up in a big way. It's a fairly study box though. Of course its nothing compared to the sturdiness of my TVA30 unless there's some wood I can't see behind that naugahide. What I may end up doing is just building a Head for it then break down and get or build a real nice 212 box and have a head and cab condiguration. I could really use a nice cab anyway. The 5E3 will be just friggin awesome to AB with the TVA30 a 4EL84 and 5E3 together is about as good as it gets in my mind. Talkin about tone nirvana wow. All that will be left after that in my mind is a lttle 18watt Marshall head and I will be done. Well, maybe a tweed champ after that but really thats about it to complete my small wall of sound. Now that's my idea of fine home furnishings. Too bad I had to get divorced to experience it. Dang near makes it worth it though.
