10 inch Alnico Blues?

I know Weber makes a 10" inch Alnico blue copy, called the Blue Pup

What else is out there that's 10 inches and Blueish, either Alnico or ceramic.

Thanks.

The Eminence 1028 10" 8 ohm AlNiCo speaker and the 10" Fender Alnico Blue used in the first reissue Bassmen and Custom Vibrolux Reverb amps are the exact same speaker. The Eminecnce is painted black. The Fender is obviously blue. Great speakers for playing blues.

No. The Emmi alnico 10 and the Fender (made by Emmi) and the old Mojo MP10R (also Emmi) were originally designed to be sorta-clones of an old Jensen P10R. They're a good sounding P10R wannabe at a good price. But despite the fact that they may be painted blue, the color of paint does not make them sound like Vox/Celestion alnico "BLUE" speakers.

As far as I know, the Weber alnico Blue Pup is the only alnico 10 on the market that is designed to have similar tonal characteristics to the 12" Weber Blue Dog, which as we know is a Vox/Celestion alnico BLUE wannabe. With all that said, I've never heard a Blue Pup so I can't comment on how it sounds. The Blue Pup has a 1.25" coil and an 11 oz plug magnet. That is the same motor used on his vintage series 10A125 (P10Q) models. I believe the Emmi P10R wannabes use a 1" coil and a 7 ounce plug magnet.

With that said, the combo of the 11 ounce plug and the 1.25" coil should have plenty of power to move a cone quickly enough to deliver chime and brightness if the cone itself isn't too thick and heavy. Call Ted and ask.
