Mesa Lone Star 4/10 Cabinet Has Arrived
Hi,
I just received my Vanilla/Tan 4/10 cabinet. This thing is everything you folks said it would be and more. The upper end sparkle is just incredible. The break up on the crunch channel is just what I have wanted out of an amp/cabinet. This cabinet is absolutely perfect for the Lone Star Special. I love it. I have played Boogies for a couple of decades and this by far my favorite. Thanks Again, TW |

I'm realy interested in the Lone Star Special- could you tell me how much headroom you have with it? I play really clean and loud, but need to get something with lower wattage so I'll be able to hear still... And-what is the bass response like?
BTW- Did the cab you got plug into a 1x12 of a head? Thanks in advance!!! |

A head and 4/10 cab is probably much more useful than a
I've got a Lonestar Special 1x12, its a great amp but I'm going to sell it because it doesn't get enough use and I'd rather have a Martin 000-18GE. |

Yeah, I'm 52 and 70+ pounds for an amp is just too much for me. Sorry you have to sell your LSS. TW |

It's not really a problem for me. I built my own amp that is based on a Fender Deluxe Reverb but with a switchable gain stage. Its very much like the LSS but with 6V6s and a tremolo. The only thing I miss is the ease of balancing the clean and drive channels with the LSS's separate masters.
I found that I prefer the sound of the 6v6s. Plus I have a tremolo.

The LSS is a great amp - I ordered a 1x12 ext cab for my 1x12 combo and have never been happier.
As far as headroom, plenty for my needs, and a mic for the PA solves the rest. :)
