Wiring from a 1x12 to a 2x12
I have done some searchin and I think Im more confused now than I was when I started...This is probably a worn out subject but...
Im trying to take my 8 ohm 1x12 amp combo, disconnect the speaker, and connect it to two 12" vintage jensens that I have. They are each 8 ohm as well. Series or parallel?? right now I have it in parallel (i think) basically "y'd" the positive to both speakers and same for the neg. Sounds REALLY good - I played for about 20 minutes - but I dont want to fry anything. Am I doing this right. Right now they are two separate old jensen loudspeakers..but I'd like to build a nice cab for the two 12's. and if things work out ok with it take the chassis and controls from the old Crate VC30 and build a matching head for it. It sure does sound good and Id like to make it look cool too...I think I've had too much time off work...

With the speakers parallel via the Y-connector they are making a 4 ohm load, which is no different that an older Fender with a 8 ohm extension speaker. It shouldn't be a problem.
