Hi there...

I tried one of these in a head/cab configuration awhile ago. If you are going for traditional VOX tone, It's not really there in my opinion - these AC50s sound more marshally to me. I have an AC30CC2 and they sound totally different. Don't get me wrong, I don't think it sounds bad, just not my cup of tea. I felt it was a little colder sounding than the more traditional Voxes.

Good stuff teledano. That is pretty much what I found. I don't have a lot of experience with AC30's......other than plugging in many times at my favorite local store and the fact I love the tone and have lusted after one for 40 + years! I've tried the new AC50 several times and like you say, it seems to be a different beast altogether. Not bad mind you, just more gain and less of that beautiful AC30 chime. That said, I'd still be proud to own one!
