Had me some fun

I'm on holiday at my parents back home and an older buddy of mine here has a pretty nice amp collection so we decided to dust it off and crank up. For me this is quite a novelty as one does not generally get chance to try all of this stuff

Blonde 62 Bassman
Mid 60's Ac30 and Ac15
Silverface Bassman
Cartlon reverb (6v6 deluxe)
Gibson GA-40
69 Marshall 50 watt.

Hard to say what was the nicest as they all had very cool things individually, the AC30 surprised me, sounded really warm on the top end. The blonde bassman was also a winner, we used my airbrake and at the top end of the knob the crunch was fat and defined, way better than the modded silverface.
The Marshall was also loads of fun past 8.
It is so different nowadas when it comes to volume in a live performance or home context. Sad also that many of these amps are too big, too loud or too much hassle to be used often. I think of my flat in London and its no no all the way with regards to volume, this is why i am planning a champ build soon and leaving my marshall 100 watt here at my parents. sheesh.

Sounds like a great time...I'm not familiar with the Carlton, but the rest are all amps I would love to own...
